Throughout the years, we’ve heard from some truly amazing customers about how their CustomInk orders helped to unite their community and take their event to the next level. We’re compiling a handful of stories to show you some of the communities we’ve recently touched.

 

joeandmeredithA Vegas Family Celebration

Family of multiple generations (2 grandparents, 7 children, and 16 grandchildren – and not pictured, 9 great grandchildren!) gathered in Las Vegas this year to celebrate Joe and Meredith’s 65th wedding anniversary & 85th birthdays. The patriarchs of this family have been vacationing in Las Vegas for decades, and have even seen Frank Sinatra and The Jackson 5 perform multiple times.

These girls refer to themselves as “Yakimaniacs.” They hail from Yakima, Washington – an irrigated desert town that basis itself on agriculture, and also happens to grow 90% of the country’s hops. When they decided to plan a weekend of camping and half marathon running down the Colombia River, they turned to us to order custom tank tops to commemorate the trip.

terryTerrie and the Yogettes

Terrie started “The Yogettes” years ago after finding yoga as a way to improve her balance, strength, and coordination while dealing with Parkinson’s Disease. As her group grew, the women discovered that they all had personal struggles and the friendships between one another became stronger. To throw Terrie an extra special birthday this year, the group surprised her not only with a party, but with different colored t-shirts for all!

campCamp Grampagramma

Since 2009, the grandparents of the boys pictured here host Camp Grampagramma at the end of every summer in Michigan’s Ludington State Park. The kids go on a scavenger hunt each year, using a grid to point out different landmarks on their hike through the park. New to this year’s scavenger hunt were these standout, custom green t-shirts. Because they were such a hit, they will now “be ordering new camp shirts each summer!”

These groomsmen took a whole new approach to the superhero-shirt-under-the-tuxedo look by having a CustomInk artist redraw a photo of the groom’s dad, who is the true superhero, breaking it down on the dance floor. “Later in the night [they] rocked the shirts by themselves in all of their glory during a late night dancing.”

100mile100 Mile Ride

After mixing and matching styles and colors, these three cancer survivors completed the Savannah Century 100 mile bicycle ride, sporting their custom tees and raising funds for Be the Match – an organization that supports the world’s largest marrow registry – along the way!

After this customer’s sister-in-law was diagnosed with MS two years ago, she immediately was inspired to launch Kick Out Ms – a fundraising kickball tournament in Swansea, Massachusetts. The group turned to CustomInk to enhance a handmade logo for their “Legends of the Ball” team, which features different parts of each team member’s personality.

Canned potatoes and sandy sleeping bags and hand sanitizer, oh my! For eight consecutive years, this group of guys have gathered together over the summer for a men’s beach camping trip. During a game of ultimate frisbee on the beach, “a ridiculously awesome chest-bump occurred; which resulted in the accidental invention of the sweaty t-shirt transfer!”

Traveling from Arizona to Florida, the Ampha family had an unforgettable trip to Disney World this summer. The family was stopped numerous times in the park because everyone wanted to know where the shirts were from. Next summer, more relatives are interested in joining, and “they have already requested to have Keep Calm shirts to match!”

When this customer’s sister was left paralyzed after a tragic accident, she rallied her family and community together to raise funds with these Keep Calm t-shirts. She has hosted multiple events since the accident and has reordered with us more than five times. Pictured here is her niece, who “took it upon herself to spread the word, sell the shirts, and coordinate the day they would wear them to school.”

Team Lettuce used our Group Order Form to order these witty tanks for a fitness conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The coaches pictured are committed to motivating, inspiring, and providing fitness tools for those in their communities. They also really like lettuce.

This first-time customer’s grandchildren had a grand time at Garden City Beach in South Carolina during their annual family beach week. Being able to pack and wear their custom t-shirts was the “perfect touch for a perfect week!”

The librarians at New Jersey’s Vineland Public Library are passionate about their jobs and their community. “From teen game nights to small business classes, this library goes a million miles an hour” providing great services and of course, remaining calm throughout everything.

“Manly Camping Weekend – Sweaty T-shirt Transfer” and “The Golden Elite Force Dancers” are the winners of this week’s Ink of the Week contest!

Ink of the Week winners

The guys pictured here look forward to their men’s beach camping trip every year, for eight years running. During their most recent trip to Cape Hatteras, the guys sported neon orange shirts during a game of ultimate frisbee on the beach. During the game, “a ridiculously awesome chest-bump occurred, which resulted in the accidental invention of the sweaty t-shirt transfer.”

Looking “more elite than ever,” the Golden Elite Force Dancers take a minute to pose before their basketball half time show performance. We love how happy these first-time customers look in their new dance uniforms!

CandyGive up the Candy!

The dental office of Allen & Kelly Smudde have been ordering shirts with us for six years for Operation Gratitude: Candy Buyback. The event encourages kids in their community to give up their Halloween candy in exchange for money (for themselves and their schools). After gathering candy, hand-written letters, and other treats, they send everything to our troops serving overseas. Pictured here is the community that participated in last year’s event.

Each year, the Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee runs Camp Billy Johnson – a FREE week of sleep-away camp for underprivileged kids who would not otherwise be able to afford camp. They provide them with everything they will need for the week including sleeping bags, towels, and “fantastic t-shirts from CustomInk!”

Nearly 150 shirts were ordered this summer for the Chicago Lights Summer Day Program, a program providing a safe place for 100 school-aged kids living in under-served communities to learn and engage in academic classes and art instructions. At the end of the session, students present multicultural arts performances for the community. Check out the moves on these 1st-4th graders!

Kaitlin, who had always referred to her birthday month as “Kait-A-Palooza,” tragically passed away in a car accident several months before her 21st birthday. Determined to celebrate the milestone in her grand style, her parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins united together in Cancun to celebrate her life. Wearing their custom shirts, they “released balloons over the Caribbean at sunset in her honor.”
