T-shirts, Dads, and Donuts: A Match Made in Heaven

In honor of Father’s Day, the donut maker Entenmann’s is hosting a contest to find the EntenMAN of the Year. Open to all fathers and father figures, regardless of gender, the brand is recognizing what the special role models in our lives do for us with the EntenMAN of the Year Father’s Day Contest. To extend the celebration to everyone, they’ve launched an online store where you can buy your own t-shirts, hats, and other custom products just in time to celebrate the father figure in your life.

We caught up with Entenmann’s Marketing Director, Jason Amar, to find out more about the contest and the Entenmann’s Father’s Day online store.

CI: What’s the story behind your EntenMAN of the Year Father’s Day Contest?

JA: We want to give donut fans across the country the opportunity to celebrate the fathers and father figures, regardless of gender, that have helped shape or inspire them the most, and the EntenMAN of the Year Father’s Day Contest allows them to do so in a sweet way. From dads to coaches, teachers and more, there are so many influential people to celebrate.

Beginning May 10th through June 21st (the day after Father’s Day!), consumers can nominate their father figure on www.EntenmanOfTheYear.com for the opportunity to win awesome prizes, including free donuts for a year and a VIP all-expenses-paid Daytona Race Trip package. Nominators simply need to submit a brief description sharing why their father figure deserves to be named EntenMAN of the Year. The top five stories will be chosen by a panel of judges and then we’ll call on consumers July 26th and July 30th to help us vote for who of our finalists they think should take home the grand prize between.

CI: What do you look for in a winner?

JA: The EntenMAN of the Year will be someone who has made a positive impact on those around them, especially their nominator. Whether a father, caregiver, guardian, coach, significant other or other family member, we want to recognize all types of exemplary father figures that embody those characteristics. We’re confident there are hundreds of thousands of people out there, but only one fan will be given the honorary title.

CI: How can having an online store help in getting the word out about your contest?

JA: We want to offer consumers a chance to buy something different than the good old necktie. We chose to open a limited-time online store to provide a wide variety of gifts that any donut-lover, will enjoy. We are so happy that Custom Ink was able to help us bring this idea to life, and we think fans will really love the gear.

CI: What is your favorite thing about working with Custom Ink?

JA: Custom Ink is helping us celebrate in a creative way! They provided us with all the resources we needed to create exactly what we envisioned for the online store. From our Crumb Donuts to Rich Frosted Donuts, they helped us perfect each item in the store to truly capture the essence of Entenmann’s Donuts and create fun merch for dads and donut fans everywhere.

CI: How were your designs created?

JA: Our collection of gear started with a simple idea: quality clothing and accessories that donut fans will love. From there, the Custom Ink team took our ideas to the next level and created multiple design options for us to choose from. Although we loved each design, we picked our absolute favorites that we believe are sure to make perfect Father’s Day gifts. We’ve got killer comfortable t-shirts, the perfect coffee mug, and a rad trucker hat.

CI: Is there anything else you’d like to share?

JA: We can’t wait to hear about all of the inspiring father figures out there and how they helped positively impact their nominees, and we look forward to seeing Entenmann’s fans sporting their favorite items from the Custom Ink x Entenmann’s store!

My son worked so hard to stay connected to his 2 daughters after his marriage broke up. It was a hard fight, but he never gave up. He continues to be an excellent role model of what a Black man needs to be in his family!
