Preparing for Your Family Reunion
Reunited and it feels so good! It’s been years of phone calls, emails, Skype, birthday cards, and Facebook updates. You love your family dearly, but keeping up with everyone can be quite the task. But finally, at long last, the stars have aligned and a family reunion is in the works! Since it’s sure to be special event, and photos will be taken (LOTS of them), everyone will surely want to look their best. Since coordinating colors and outfits can be a challenging task, why not show off your family pride with perfectly designed custom tees. From your grandma to your Aunt Sallie and even your second cousin Jim, everyone will love them.
Great idea, right…but where to start? Follow these easy steps and you’ll be well on your way to creating the perfect tee for your family reunion.
Choosing the tee
Getting everyone in the family to agree on a color and brand of shirt can certainly be a difficult task. Rather than having every member choose on their own, pre-select 1-3 shirt options for the family to vote one (same applies to hoodies, tanks, or any other product of your choosing). Just remember sure to select an option that is offered in a wide range of sizes, including youth and plus sizes (the Gildan Ultra Cotton T-shirt, the Hanes 50/50, and the Next Level Jersey tee are three great option), and a color that is gender neutral.
Selecting a theme
Now that your family has selected a shirt, the fun beings. Creating a design can initially be daunting with so many ideas and options, but picking a theme will help hone in your creativity. Think about the location of your reunion – is it on a cruise, Disneyland, or perhaps a more historical destination? Wherever the location, we offer hundreds of fonts and clip art to bring the design to life. Take it from the Smith family. They chose a pirate adventure theme, perfectly fitting for a reunion on Kelley’s Island.
Getting Creative
Does your family have a special tradition, an inside joke, or a well-known story? Think about the things that make your family unique, reminisce about past events, and consider current trends. The Chu family added a clever spin to their reunion tees, taking the Nike slogan of “Just Do It” and subbing in their family name for a fun custom tee that read: “Just Chu It.”
Collecting sizes and payment
Since tracking down every family member to obtain their sizing info and payment can be a time consuming task, we’ve made things easier with the help of a group order form. Now each member can select their size and pay for their portion. After you’ve collected all of the info and dues, you can quickly and easily complete your order. If you have any questions or need help, please give us a call at 855-374-4687. We’re here 7 days a week.
Snapping the perfect pic
Hooray, you made it! You placed your order, anxiously awaited for its arrival, and now the big day is here. As you gather with family and friends, all of whom compliment you on the wonderful job you did on the t-shirts, start scouting out a location for your family photo. Make sure the lighting is just right (find an optimally shaded spot if it’s super sunny out), ensure everyone fits in the photo frame while maintaining the visibility of your shirts, check that everyone is smiling, and most importantly – act natural. So let out that inner family goofiness and snap a perfect pic. And, don’t forget to submit it into our Ink of the Week photo contest for a chance to win $100 off your next order!

Complaint Detail / Problem
Complaint Type: Sales Issues
Problem:
Order Number 5839228 was placed June 5, 2015, after designing our organization’s shirt, saving the design, and printing it as a “Printed Proof” for approval by our organization. The shirt is clearly displayed in full color as the product available for sale at the given price. We have the Printed Proof page printed, and it clearly displays our logo in full color, and the quoted price for the 50 shirts is displayed on the Printed Proof page. After voting and approval by the club, I went to order the 50 shirts by clicking on the link “Buy Your Design,” to order the shirts from the page that shows the shirt as designed with a shirt logo in full color. I had spoken with two different representatives, Carly and Matt, about possibly using another color on the waves, but I decided to go with the same full color design we had been shown in our printed proof and went through the order process online. I used a voucher code for a free shirt with the order, and this brought the price down to $329.77. After placing the order, I was told by a customer service representative by email that this shirt was only available in a design we have never been shown, without the full color logo as displayed in our design which we ordered. He told me that the shirts as we ordered them, in the full color design as shown in our Printed Proof picture/photo, would be $281 more than what we already paid. We want the shirt in full color, as we designed, as shown to us in a “printed proof” before and during the order process. We do not want a substitute shirt that was never shown to us in the design or ordering process. The customer service reprentative admitted on Friday, June 5, 2015, that ” With your awesome design containing 6 ink colors, the quote you had been viewing may not have been accurate.” The quote was given to us, clearly indicated on a page that shows our “printed proof,” which is our design as chosen. We do not want to pay $281 more for the design that was shown to us in our printed proof. We want the shirts we ordered, as shown in the full color logo design. We want them at the price we have paid, which was indicated as an “all inclusive price” for the full color shirt design shown on the printed proof page. The company’s admitted lack of accuracy seems to be illegal Bait and Switch consumer fraud.
Desired Resolution / Outcome
Desired Resolution:
Other (requires explanation)
Desired Outcome:
We want Custom Ink to make good on the printed proof and print our shirts as ordered, in the full color logo as displayed in the order process, at the quoted price, which was paid. We do not want to be victims of Bait and Switch. The company should not show a design that can not be printed as displayed for the quoted price. The price quoted and paid was indicated to be an “All-Inclusive Price” shown with the full color design photo on the Printed Proof page. If the design as shown in the design photo is offered at an “all inclusive price,” it is not legal to change the product from that being offered for sale in the picture/photo. It must be the displayed item, as shown in the design photo/picture. Furthermore, the order was guaranteed by Friday, June 19, and it needs to be delivered as promised.
