Ink of the Week Winners
“Shane’s Future a Days” & “Happy Birthday Cookie!” win this week’s Ink of the Week contest!
“This is our team photo from the 2014 Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Parkway Run/Walk for pediatric cancer. We walked for my son, Shane. He is 15 months old and fighting stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. This was our first year doing the walk, as he was recently diagnosed in March. We had a fantastic turnout and team comprised of family and friends! CustomInk helped us create a shirt that symbolized our fight for him. We used the shirts to raise a little over $1000 for our team ‘Shane’s Future Days’ donation to CHOP. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product and their supportive design staff.”
“My mama passed away in July of this year after a 17-month-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Her 60th birthday would’ve been September 25th, so we gathered friends and family at our neighborhood park and released 60+ balloons in honor of our ‘Cookie!’ We had shirts for all of our family and friends to wear not only for this occasion, but also for the month of November which is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. That is also why we chose the color purple. The front of our shirts have Mom’s favorite Bible Verse on them, and the back has 60, so that we never forget all of the wonderful years we had with her. Our shirts helped us raise money to improve our neighborhood park in honor of my mama, as well as raising awareness about this awful type of cancer, known as the silent killer. ”
