Game of Shirts: The Ironed Throne

Winter had come to DC, and Kritica Joshi knew the students of the Milken Institute of Public Health at George Washington University were not outfitted to survive the relentless assault of the cold. They had fought through the first semester together, and now in the snowbound streets of the capital city, the spring semester was showing no signs of a thaw. As the Chief of Correspondence for the GW Public Health Student Association, Kritica knew there was only one way to bolster her peers’ morale until the arrival of the long-awaited Spring Break—coming together in custom pullovers.

“Our campus only has one item in our local bookstore,” Kritica says. “A lot of our students—including myself—wanted to show off our awesome institution and wear pullovers with pride. Also, it’s freezing in DC, we definitely needed a cozy pullover to keep us warm!” So, with the support of her team, Kritica shouldered the mantle of Order Commander and set out to find an item that all of her fellow students would love. At first, her path seemed treacherous, and her trials many, but as she began to consult with her most trusted advisors, Kritica soon learned of the neighboring kingdom of Custom Ink.

“All my colleagues had great experiences in the past, and we have heard only good things, so I gave it a shot,” she says. “And now I know we’re never going to anyone else.” The kingdom of Custom Ink had long been known for its skill in helping rally groups around custom t-shirts and accessories. Consulting a GWU dedicated sales rep, Heather Morrison, Kritica had found just the ally her cause needed.

In order to truly unite her group, Kritica needed to ensure that her design was approved by the leaders of George Washington University. After all, her design included a sigil from their banner. “The GW logo is trademarked by our campus, and we added Public Health (italicized) to emphasize our school and program.”

Though this seemed another daunting task, with the help of her allies at Custom Ink, Kritica once again rose to conquer the challenge. “I had the best experience!” She says. “Once my logo was confirmed, they ensured me that the design would be as perfect as I wanted it to be.” Even after some delays due to embroidery, Custom Ink rallied the troops to ensure Kritica could return to her peers with pullovers in time for the arrival of Spring Break.

Through her tireless efforts, and with a little help from a friendly ally, Kritica returned from her journey stronger, wiser, and much warmer thanks to the custom pullovers she had won for her fellow students. Morale within the school soared, and with the support of her fellow students, Kritica ascended to a new position within her own kingdom. “Everyone loves these pullovers! They are calling me the queen of pullovers because I was so persistent to create GW Public Health sweaters.”

A box crinkles as a regal figure shifts on her cardboard throne. Her eyes survey the students around her in their custom pullovers, and a smile graces her lips. Her task as Order Commander has been fulfilled, and now the indomitable regent lays claim to another title. “Daenerys from Game of Thrones may be after the Iron Throne, I, Kritica Joshi of DC, have the Custom Ink Pullover Throne. Hahahaha!”
