Family Pride, Family Apparel
No matter the size, family reunions are always a BIG event. It can already be a challenge for many to stay in touch with their families, much less spend multiple days (or weeks!) with their kin. With all the planning, effort, and time that goes into pulling off a fantastic family reunion, you don’t want to risk the chance of missing anyone when you need a family photo or dinner! Fortunately, custom gear makes it easy to spot all your aunties and uncles and serves as a sweet souvenir to remember this momentous meet-up year after year.
The Romouw family has a lot of experience with organizing family reunions—they’ve been doing it for the past 15 years! Every year, they’ve met at a different New York State Park, and eight years ago they started ordering custom shirts from Custom Ink to commemorate their trip and rep their family. Way to start a tradition!
It’s always a challenge to fit each member of their family, from grandma to grandkids, but choosing shirts with broad size options helped. The family used the Group Order Form to let everyone pick their own size for a long time, but when they discovered the life-changing option to choose individual shirt colors of the same brand and type at no additional cost, things really took off for them.
Each family member having their own custom shirt color did more than make it easy to find themself in their group photos—it gave them a reason to wear their reunion souvenir all year round. After all, they knew it would match the rest of their wardrobe. While the Romouws’ previous shirts already garnered attention at the parks, the rainbow of colors the family sports makes for some truly standout photos that showcase the fun they have as they meet up every summer.
The Payne Family Reunion was started by William and Christy Payne back in 1977 to allow the extended family to bond, enjoy each others’ fellowship, and love one another. They meet every June in the Payne’s hometown of Columbia, Kentucky. Since then, all their children and all their children’s children have maintained this tradition.
The Payne family reunions are huge and combine multiple families. Their need to pick the perfect custom shirt for each family member drove them to branch out beyond size and color. Making good use of Custom Ink’s variety of apparel offerings, the Payne family printed on five different types of custom shirts. They had youth sizes, adult sizes, extra tall t-shirts, toddler shirts, women’s shirts, and even long sleeve shirts!

When you’ve been organizing family reunions for decades, you know that you’re dealing with people of all shapes and sizes. Fortunately, with the range of custom shirt types to print on, the 42nd Payne Family Reunion managed to find the perfect souvenir to fit every member of the family. Even with a reunion that involved more than 80 people, the Payne family could all match each other for their epic family photo.
Of course, not every family decides to stick with custom shirts when they’re representing their kin. Completely avoiding the stress of figuring out each and every family member’s shirt size, the Jones/Eguiluz family created a custom Spirit Rally Towel for their reunion.
The Jones/Eguiluz family created the custom towels to serve as a personalized memento of their event. Family members were so excited to receive the towels and show off their family pride, and even though they aren’t custom shirts, you can still see some of the family members attempting to wear them!
The Jones/Eguiluz family had only positive reactions to creating their custom family gear, citing the Custom Ink team’s helpfulness, friendliness, and professionalism when recounting the order experience. The custom spirit rally towels were a rousing success—and at the end of the visit, every family member had a keepsake of their exciting reunion.
While we all may have our gripes about grandpa or a 15-year-old beef with our brother over who really won that game of Monopoly, we still feel that family pride when we’re together. Why not make a custom shirt or towel to really remember that “We Are Family!”
