Cherry Blossom Festival and Other Fun Runs
CustomInk’s headquarters are located just outside of our nation’s capital. One of the best times to be in this area is for the Cherry Blossom Festival, which starts this weekend.
Here’s a quick history lesson for you: In 1912, the city of Tokyo, Japan, donated over 3,000 cherry trees to Washington, DC. Now, a cherry tree grove covers parts of the East and West Potomac Parks and surrounds the Tidal Basin.
The peak bloom date for the cherry blossoms is estimated to be around April 4, and if you want to see them in their full glory, you can participate in the annual ten mile run through the groves. Or, if you’re like me, you can skip the run, snap some photos and enjoy some sushi in the spirit of Japan’s awesome gift.
Anyway, these customers are not like me. They choose to head outside in the Spring for walks, runs, and races in support of great causes.
