“Ukes Make a Difference” wins this week’s Ink of the Week contest!

“Gilda’s Stringers is a weekly ukulele group that is part of the cancer support community at Gilda’s Metro Detroit. We are composed of cancer survivors, caregivers, and friends. Our mission is to help others struggling with cancer to connect with their creativity and healing through music. Almost all of our members had never played the uke before joining and now we regularly go out into the community to perform. We always take a sign with us but thought it was time for Gilda’s to be more visible so we decided to have shirts made. This was the most positive experience I have ever had working with a company. Even when we had to make changes, every single staff person was very helpful. We love our new shirts and know they will help us spread the message that no one has to face cancer alone. We are in the process of raising funds so that we may offer a uke program for kids with cancer so we’ll be ordering more shirts!”
