Getting a New Leash on Life in Custom Team Shirts

Early on a recent Saturday morning, people from across Virginia gathered with their teams at the Richmond chapter of the national charity WALK MS, a walk to raise funds and awareness for multiple sclerosis, also known as MS. One group stood out from the others, and it wasn’t just because of their bright orange custom team shirts. The Follow Me Dog Training team had each brought a plus one… on a leash.

The largest team to walk with their dogs at WALK MS: Richmond, the Follow Me Dog Training’s custom team shirts carried a special message in bold type across the back: “I just want to walk my dog and end MS forever.” Team leader Renée Lamoureux, owner and head dog trainer for Follow Me Dog Training LLC, came up with their inspirational slogan along with a friend who has MS. The shirts bear her business logo on the front which is a set of human footprints leading a set of dog footprints.

Renée has worked with animals since high school when she started her own pet sitting business. After she graduated from college, she was chatting with her ophthalmologist about her new puppy, her past work experience, and how she was searching for a job when he suggested she could consider dog training. Renée started taking dog training courses and eventually founded her own company, Follow Me Dog Training LLC. Now, more than two decades later, she has helped thousands of dogs and owners. Her logo, branding, and custom apparel have helped get the word out. And she doesn’t just wait for charity walks to order custom products for her business. “I order 99% of all my business things from Custom Ink. Great customer service and quality stuff and super easy to design.”

She’s led teams for nine charity walks so far. “I built the team because I have too many friends and clients that live with multiple sclerosis and any bit helps,” says Renée. “I love being able to fundraise for a great cause and give back to the friends and clients that can’t walk with us because of this disease. And it is a great workout for the dogs.”

Renée has ordered the custom team shirts for this event through Custom Ink for the past eight years. She says, “The designs change every year, but the most recent one is my favorite. I want my team to stand out and I want my team to be able to wear those shirts for a while so I invest in these shirts for them.” She’s excited to share that “everyone loved this year’s shirts!”
