Artist Spotlight: Nathan J.

Each month one of our Inkers displays their artwork in the office gallery.  This month Nathan J. has shared his paintings and illustrations.  Nathan began working at CustomInk on our Production Art team, but now has transferred to the Sales and Service team, so he is one of our “Talk to a Real Person” persons.

Nathan majored in Illustration at the Ringling College of Art and Design, and yes that is Ringling like the circus.  He not only got to meet some big names of the illustration world while studying there, like Will Eisner and Mary Grand Pre, but also participated in workshops with Hallmark and Disney.

Nathan’s view on art is this: “Art should be fun!”  As you can see he incorporates that playful spirit into his work through his expressive drawing style, and the way he combines a wide variety of mediums to get a full spectrum of color.  Since graduating and joining us he has worked on many side projects including murals and custom paintings.  Now, when is is not at the office, he is working on a couple top-secret illustration projects for the kiddies.  And that’s all I know… You’ll just have to keep an eye out for those!
