Font Categories

First, a quick primer on fonts. There are two main font styles: serif and sans serif.

  1. A serif font has short lines at the ends of the letters, making it look less blocky, one of the most popular serif fonts that you might know is Times.
  2. Sans serif fonts are just that–a font “sans” or without serif. A common sans serif font is Arial.

There are also other font categories like script, handwritten, greek, and decorative fonts, which you’ll see in some of our examples below and categorized in our lab.

Any Charity Organizer or Volunteer Can Use Fonts

Are you comfortable rallying supporters, but a little shy when it comes to designing tees? No worries at all! It’s easy to use our fonts to create your charity look. Charity customers of all kinds can use our fonts in the lab to customize apparel–from charity walks, to 5Ks, to animal adoption events.

Pairing Fonts

Once you figure out which fonts you like, it’s important to pair them for maximum impact. Using two fonts that work together will make your design really pop. You’ll see in our graphic below some of our favorite charity fonts to pair together.

If you want a look that says you’re serious about your cause, pair Veneer with Bourton Base. The bold fonts create a powerful look that will be hard to miss on your tees. Even though they’re similar sans serif fonts at first glance, the subtle differences make one perfect for titles and one just right for supporting text. The lightly worn look on both helps tie it all together.

Want a playful look for your charity apparel? We love pairing Crayon with The Hand Bold. This font combo is great for your children’s charity or an animal shelter. Using Crayon for your header font will make your name stand out in a playful way, and The Hand Bold will keep your supporting text clean and to the point.
