How to Brand Your Finance Company

No matter what business you’re in, branding is key. Not only does it reflect what you do, but it gives your customers insight into your mission, personality, and why they should work with you. If you’re starting out as a small finance business or are looking to rebrand your established company, there are some simple steps you can take to build your brand.

Whether you’re a local bank branch, a regional accounting firm, or focus on private equity, all kinds of finance businesses can benefit from custom gear. It gives your employees some company pride, and also serves as promotional advertising in your area. A t-shirt is always a great swag item for staff or even customer giveaways, but when you’re working long days at your desk, a fleece zip up or vest is a coveted item. They go well with business or business casual attire, and are perfect for when the AC gets a little too chilly. And don’t forget the duffels or “banker bags.” Your employees will be lining up to grab a customized bag for carrying their work or gym gear. Below are our branding tips for your business, along with some of our favorite gear and designs for finance companies.

Maybe numbers are your thing and logos and names aren’t–that’s ok! We’re here to help. There are lots of great ways to name your finance services business. If you want to keep it simple, take your name or your group’s name and add to it. Some of our favorites in the financial sector are:

– Partners
– Capital
– Co.
– Financial
– Management

These are simple ways to make your company sound classic but professional. We’d sure turn our heads for Smith Partners or Wall & Brown Capital. If you’re looking for a name that’s a bit more unique and modern, think about what you do and what your brand conveys. If you focus on accounting, consider Accountco, or if venture capital is what you focus on, Venturion.

When coming up with a business name, think about who you are as a company and what your brand personality might be. Are you professional and experienced but also willing to take risks? Use these traits to inspire your business name, your colors, and your brand voice–such as keeping your copy and logo traditional, but balancing it with impactful and inspiring brand colors.

When you’ve figured out your company name, logo, and colors, Custom Ink has everything you need to get started–or if not, we’re here to help! If you have a specific brand color or logo that you want to use, we can match it to a Pantone color. Our experts will go over your design with you and help you choose the best color for your needs. You can bring your idea to life in our design lab–which gives you access to a library of unique and modern fonts, as well as thousands of pieces of art to get you started. It’s also easy to upload your own logo onto your gear.

Fleece Vests

A fleece vest is the perfect finance industry piece of apparel. Since most offices are business casual, a hoodie or sporty jacket doesn’t always go with the office dress code. But a cozy fleece vest goes perfectly over button up tops, and can even be a fashion statement your employees love. The Port Authority Microfleece Vest has a classic look that will look perfect with a logo on the front. For something super on-trend, customize the Charles River Sweater Fleece Vest.

Duffel bags

Whether you call it a corporate duffel or a banker bag, a duffel has been a coveted item in the banking industry. It’s the perfect bag for toting day to day items, but big enough that you can use it on the weekends, too. Known for adorning the company’s name along the sides, it’s easy to create your own version of this classic. Our Liberty Bags Small Duffel is perfect for just that. It comes in tons of great colors to match any logo, and has a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap so it will work for any employee.

T-shirts

T-shirts are always a good idea. Whether you customize them for employee giveaways or use them as promotional items for clients, a tee can always be put to good use. And, the more people that wear them to the gym or running errands around town, the more exposure your brand gets. We’re big fans of the Next Level Tri-Blend T-shirt, and we’re sure you will be too. It’s luxuriously soft and everyone who gets one will know it’s more than just a classic tee from the second they feel it. It comes in a bunch of great heathered and vintage colors to give it a high end look.

Coffee Mugs

If you work in finance you’re no stranger to early meetings and late nights going through spreadsheets. Which means you’re no stranger to coffee, either. Custom mugs are perfect if you have a nice coffee setup for your employees. Add your logo to our 13oz Clear Glass Coffee Mug for a custom coffee bar accessory. These glass mugs are timeless but offer a unique alternative to ceramic mugs. Employees will be rushing to get their lattes!

Popsockets®

While they’re newcomers to the custom swag game, Popsockets® are great for anyone who spends time on the phone. If you’re always calling clients or sitting on long conference calls, a Popsocket is a great way to get a good grip on your phone or fight hand fatigue. They can even stand your phone up if you want to keep it on speaker!

Custom Candy

Do you have an office that sees a lot of client traffic, or are you a bank branch? Toss the old candy dish and give out truly custom treats. Personalize mini bags of Jelly Bellys with your logo that you can offer to clients as they stop by. They wont be able to resist their sweet tooth, and they’ll appreciate the one of a kind treat.

Water Bottles

We’d argue that a water bottle is one of the most useful swag items for businesses–hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! This is especially true if you have a water cooler available to employees. Not only can they fill up once instead of filling small cups each time they want a drink, but reusable bottles can help cut back on paper cup waste. We recommend the 25oz Tritan Camelbak Eddy. These bottles are trendy and also BPA-free and have a straw for easy drinking. We also love the carry handle, which makes bringing it to meetings a breeze even if your hands are full.
