“Gail’s Groupies” win this week’s Ink of the Week contest!
“On 10/26/13, 45 adults and 14 kids rocked out these fantastic t-shirts while walking in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event down at the Chicago Lakefront. Currently my mom is 4 years cancer free, and with family and friends we made strides to help find a cure. Although the team “Gail’s Groupies” is made in honor of my mom, our t-shirts speak the truth. We walk for all survivors and fighters and especially those close to our hearts that are listed on the back of our shirts in a pink ribbon.”
It’s no secret that CustomInk loves t-shirts. Especially custom t-shirts. We’ve always talked casually about the most iconic, the best, or most popular t-shirts of all time, but in light of the 100th birthday of the t-shirt, we decided to put our money where our mouths are and put it to a company vote. The result is a phantasmagorical stroll down memory lane through popular movies, rock ‘n’ roll, TV land, comics, college athletics, cultural movements, social statements, funky fads and so much more. We hope you enjoy and share with friends. Read more –>
Since 1913 the t-shirt, which first appeared as standard-issue gear within the U.S. Navy, has become an essential part of the American wardrobe and identity. To commemorate the occasion, CustomInk has announced a national celebration of the t-shirt’s 100th birthday. The campaign includes surveys and conversations with Americans about their beloved tees, a webpage dedicated to the t-shirt’s 100th birthday, a gallery of the most iconic t shirts of all-time, and launching this summer, an augmented reali-TEE app.
CustomInk recently got involved with a movement called #PuntersArePeopleToo started by the NFL Network’s Rich Eisen. If you haven’t already heard of it, the quote was started after Bryan Anger (a punter from UC Berkeley) was chosen in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft this year – Go Bryan! See this awesome video below for the backstory:
Rich Eisen interviewed Anger on his podcast a few months back, and made “Punters Are People Too” t-shirts promoting “the cause.” And it seems to have buily up a lot of steam, because when punter Sam Koch of the Baltimore Ravens scored a TD on a fake field goal, the entire Baltimore Ravens team got shirts through us to support their teammate … Proving further proof that punters should get more respect.
