Did you know an octopus has three hearts? It’s no wonder our trusted octopus mascot, Inky, has a lot of love to give! With our #InkTheLove campaign we’re spreading the love to a few kind and compassionate customers who give back to others. Check out one of our featured customers: The Liberty Run Foundation.
The Liberty Run Foundation is a non-profit organization providing veteran to veteran support. Through the Comfort Bag Program (as seen in the photo above), they are able to collaborate with the community to source hygiene supplies for not only veterans, but also the homeless and low-income populations. They also help to provide other items, including disaster relief items such as sleeping bags, ponchos, and other seasonal-specific items like jackets, sweatshirts, children comfort items (teddy bears, and toys), tents, and air mattresses.
Some veterans they help are so impacted that they join the organization themselves, which in turn instills a sense of purpose and positivity! You can get involved by following their Facebook page or checking out their website.

This group of young girls, called the Junior Bike Angels, help out the community of Lake County, CA, where wildfires destroyed hundreds of homes. The idea to collect bikes started when an area preschool started sourcing bikes for local children. This idea took off, and soon it became so popular that it was becoming hard to meet the demand. The girls took notice and decided to do their part to help out. They hope that the bikes bring a welcome distraction to the kids who lost everything in the devastating fires.
They ordered shirts to make them easily identifiable and unite them as a group when delivering bikes and at fundraisers (as seen in the photo above), and to date, have collected 480 new and used bikes and raised over $3,000! You can like The Junior Bike Angels on Facebook to follow their efforts!
Last week, the girls Destination Imagination team placed FIRST in the State of CA. They presented their community outreach project and competed against 9 other teams from around the state.
They will represent our State at the Globals May 23-29 in Tennessee. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the girls as they will not only compete, but engage in learning with some of the most creative minds in the world. 15 countries will be represented!
It’s going to cost each girl about $1300 to travel. They set up a Gofundme page to help cover some of the associated costs. Take a look and help out if you can!

The Detroit Mower Gang (DMG) gets together every Wednesday to mow the abandoned playgrounds of Detroit. They refuse to let the city’s parks disappear due to neglect. In the photo above, the team joined with Focus: HOPE, an organization dedicated to intelligent and practical solutions to the problems of hunger, economic disparity, inadequate education, and racial divisiveness, to offer their services toward a massive revitalization project. 15,000 volunteers came together to clean up vacant lots, board abandoned homes, and introduce new rain gardens, public art, and trees to the neighborhood. The DMG helped by mowing and clearing brush to tame the thickest parts of the urban jungle. The group shirts were a huge hit and helped the group “kick grass!

These girl scouts designed shirts to wear just in time for cookie sales! From the design layout to the t-shirt color, these girls did it all on their own and they look great standing with their leaders at a recent troop meeting!
