Stories to Make You Smile (Kids Edition)

Our friends at Booster are celebrating kids all month long with their B-Cause: Kids program, so to jump on board, we’re highlighting standout kids (or teens) of our own – all of whom recently submitted their stories to our Ink of the Week photo contest!

Tyler and his classmates traveled to Tijuana, Mexico, during their spring break to build homes for families in need. With them, they brought their gold, foil ink t-shirts to wear while building. They had a few extras to spare, so they gave out shirts to some of the kids for whom they were building houses (look closely and you’ll see seven-year-old, Kevin, lounging among some of the teens).

helping_homelessFeeding the Homeless

Youth members of Jacksonville’s Believers in Christ Christian Center are “feeding bodies and restoring souls” (slogan from the back of their t-shirts). Recently, they took to the streets of downtown Jacksonville to give hygiene supplies, food, clothes, and prayers to the homeless in the community. The volunteers’ shirts were such a hit, that those who didn’t get one initially now want one!

music_kidsProviding Dream Concerts

At just 14 years old, Addison started the nonprofit organization, The Overlooked, to provide dream concert tickets to music fans with a mental illness, physical disorder, or external life struggle. Nominations pour in from all over the country and Addison and her team work with the nominees to pair them up with a night to remember. Now in high school, Addison is dreaming bigger and hoping to expand her organization internationally so that she can help as many people as possible feel seen, known, and loved.
