“Dogs are Miracles with Paws – RUSVM’s Josh Project” wins this week’s Ink of the Week contest!

“RUSVM’s Josh Project (stemming from the national organization, Josh and Friends), reaches out to the sick and hospitalized children on the island of St. Kitts. We aim to ease pain, calm fears, and help with their overall healing process by utilizing the unique and powerful human-animal bond. One way we carry out our mission is through hospital donation visits, in which each child gets a stuffed puppy dog named Josh, and a book that we read with them called “I’ll Be O.K.”. We are able to carry out our mission because of our many fundraisers. This picture was taken at our most recent fundraiser, on May 24, 2014: Woof for Wellness. Woof for Wellness was a health & fitness retreat that benefited the children and animals in our community! Our classes (yoga, dance, aerobics and more) looked out over the beautiful Caribbean Sea with a view of our sister island, Nevis. This picture shows some of our Josh Project volunteers wearing their CustomInk tees! We’ve been ordering these tees for our active members since RUSVM’s Josh Project began in 2010!”
